🎉 2017 Wrap-up with OK!Good Records 🎉
We had an amazing 2017 here at OK!Good Records and we can’t wait to see what 2018 brings! As we prepare to ring in the New Year this weekend we wanted to look back at all of the great achievements our team of artists made this year…
2017 was an amazing year for the legendary singer, who celebrated his 50th year in showbiz by traveling across the world on his 50th Anniversary Tour and with the OK!Good Records release of his brand new album The Man I Want to Be. Doubling as a love letter to his wife, Patricia of 53 years who is suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease, The Man I Want To Be presents Humperdinck in a much more contemporary style and introspective mood, featuring songs by Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, Willie Nelson, Jon Allen, Richard Marx, and more.
The new album was prefaced with OK!Good Records’ Worldwide Listening Party. Streaming on YouTube Live, we gave Humperdinck fans from around the world an exclusive first-listen of the album before its release, followed by a Second Listening Party which included album commentary from Humperdinck himself. Humperdinck’s album commentary from the Listening Party is now available in full on YouTube.
Along with Humperdinck’s Album Commentary, and Full Album Sampler (Above), you can also stream OK!Good’s previously released double-CD of duets, Engelbert Calling on YouTube. Back in April we celebrated Engelbert Calling hitting 200,000 Views on YouTube and since then the album has hit over 350,000 views!
You can order The Man I Want To Be on CD, along with a limited edition Signed Copies and Bundles in the OK!Good Records Shop. The album is also available on Amazon, iTunes, Spotify, Google Play, Barnes & Noble and at music retailers worldwide.
Weapons of Anew
In 2017 OK!Good Records unleashed the hard-hitting debut album from Weapons of Anew, The Collision of Love and Hate. The dynamic new band features Freddy Ordine, Ray West, Stefan “Reno” Cutrupi, Chris Manfre, and new guitarist Kris Norris. On their debut Weapons of Anew create a unique blend of modern metal and hard-hitting alternative rock, as shown from their lead single, “Killshot”. Watch the music video below:
Weapons of Anew supported the release of The Collision of Love and Hate with two nationwide tours. Starting with a two-month run of dates with Alter Bridge and Nonpoint in early 2017, and a fall tour alongside Tesla, Weapons of Anew hit the ground running with the newly formed band impressing crowds across the US with their high energy live shows.
In 2017 Janet Devlin followed up her smash single, “Outernet Song” by collaborating with multi-platinum producer, Jason Nevins on Outernet Song (Remix). Nevins, who has worked with legendary artists like RUN D.M.C., Florida Georgia Line and Nelly created a brand new interpretation of the ukulele-infused alt-pop single. Shortly after its premiere on renowned music discovery website, Idolator, the remix hit #1 on the Most Popular Tracks on Twitter Chart.
As Janet continues to work on her highly-anticipated sophomore album, Holy Water, her debut album Running With Scissors continues to captivate new fans around the world. Back in June we celebrated her cover of “Friday I’m in Love” hitting 9 Million streams on Spotify, and since then the track now has over 10.5 Million streams! Her song, “Things We Lost in the Fire” also hit a 1 Million streams this year, joining “Whisky Lullabies” and “Wonderful” for tracks on Running With Scissors over 1 million streams.
Along with her UK home-label Insomina Music Records, we co-released an exclusive vinyl pressing of Janet’s Running With Scissors. We have a few remaining copies of the three vinyl color variants available in our store right now for US fans. Click Here for more info.
In late 2016 multi-Gold and Platinum awarded electronic musician, producer, and composer Christopher von Deylen, AKA Schiller, released Future on OK!Good Records. To follow up the release of his ninth studio album, Schiller released several music videos from the project in 2017. Check out the videos for “The Future I + II (with Kéta)” and our exclusive new video edit for “Once Upon A Time” below:
