Engelbert Humperdinck Limited Edition Vinyl “Duets EP” Announced

EH Duets EP Cover_600OK!Good Records has announced the release of an upcoming Engelbert Humperdinck 7” vinyl EP due out on May 4, 2015. This limited edition colored vinyl, entitled Duets EP, will include duets with Gene Simmons, Olivia Newton-John, Dionne Warwick, and Willie Nelson.

The legendary and incomparable Engelbert Humperdinck expands upon the success of his critically acclaimed double album, Engelbert Calling (2014) with his first vinyl release in more than 25 years. Duets EP will be available on May 4th, 2015 and will feature four duets from his double CD available for the first time on vinyl.

Duets EP will be a limited edition 7” vinyl record with a first pressing of 1,000 copies on transparent cloudy clear vinyl. We are excited to be the first to have this new release for vinyl fans and collectors world-wide.

The four duet selections for the EP include “Spinning Wheel” with Gene Simmons, “Never, Never, Never” with Olivia Newton-John, “It Matters To Me“ with Dionne Warwick, and “To Make You Feel My Love“ with Willie Nelson. We wanted to go with a 70s feel to the EP since that was a very active and popular time for Engelbert as well as for vinyl records, so we specifically chose duets with partners who were also active and popular during that time.

While the Duets EP will be available in music retailers nationwide on May 4, 2015, a limited amount will be made available for purchase at select record stores in support of Record Store Day on April 18, 2015. Fans without local record stores participating in Record Store Day can purchase their copies on the OK!Good Records web-store.

New Slang Reviews Dovetail’s Performance at The Blue Light Live

Dovetail performed at The Blue Light Live on March 6th, and New Slang was there to cover all the action. New Slang gave a great review of Dovetail’s performance and also took some awesome photos of the band. You can read the review below, or you can check it out on NewSlang.com.

Midway through Dovetail’s opening set, I heard whispers of “Hmm…I think I like Dovetail more…I don’t know how Jonathan Tyler can do better than that tonight.” You really couldn’t blame them either. For most of the crowd, it was the first time hearing the “Holy Shit” harmonies of the band. Their debut Mount Karma captured those harmonies, but like with anything that great and precise, you’re naturally hesitant to believe they’re going to be able to do it in a live setting. It’s normal to think so because you’ve been let down by inferior talent in the past.

Dovetail, it’s not the case.

I’d describe the harmonies of Dovetail as a dog whistle. If you’ve ever seen a dog respond to a dog whistle, you know they do the sudden head jerk to that direction. Phillip Creamer and company begin singing and bar stools begin to turn. Wallflowers approach. Mobs form.

Dovetail’s debut album, Mount Karma is available for purchase in our webstoreiTunes and Bandcamp.

Janet Devlin Featured in The March Issue of Four Culture Magazine

four culture mag.Janet Devlin has been featured in Issue 17 of Four Culture Magazine. Janet was previously featured on Four Culture, now she has been featured with a four page spread in the magazine. The feature includes an exclusive interview with the singer-songwriter, as well as a brief look into how she came into the spotlight.

The singer-songwriter from Northern Ireland first caught the public’s attention in 2011 when, as a soft-spoken and shy 16-year old, she wowed the audience and judges on The X-Factor UK with her emotional rendition of Elton John’s “Your Song.”  On The X-Factor UK, Janet received the highest number of votes for four consecutive weeks; giving her the most first place finishes of any contestant on the season.

After The X-Factor, Janet declined many recording contract offers in order to retain creative control over her music and her career. Her determination to find and express her own artistic voice resulted in her debut album, Running With Scissors. Janet displays a refreshing and soulful sound enhanced by a polished and restrained production. Running With Scissors strips away any excess and thereby allows the listener to enjoy her unique vocals and strong song craft.

Four Culture Magazine also features an exclusive interview, which took place prior to her visit to the states for her first ever performance in New York City. You can read some of the interview below, but make sure you click HERE to read the full interview.

Do you have a favorite track on Running With Scissors?
Whiskey Lullabies, I think. It’s the last song on the album and it’s about childhood, growing up, and acceptance, and those kinds of things. And I honestly love it. I even decided to do an Irish version of it. I spoke Irish as a child and I don’t know why– maybe because the song is about childhood– but i decided to do this song in Irish. So there’s an Irish version of it as well.

By the time this interview comes out, you will have made your American debut performance in New York City. What else can your fans expect from you in 2015?
As far as plans for America in 2015, I’ll be getting my album out to fans and getting people to listen to it. Hopefully I’ll be doing some more gigs, meeting some American fans, and also doing some writing there. Just spreading my American wings properly.

Janet’s debut album, Running With Scissors is now available for purchase on iTunesAmazon, Google Play and our webstore. The album is also streaming on Spotify and Bandcamp. Be sure to check out our exclusive Janet Devlin merchandise in our webstore.
