New Album From Tenacious D “The Rize Of The Fenix” and Hilarious Videos
Tenacious D is back and better than ever! The new album, “Rize of The Fenix,” is a triumphant resurrection out of the ashes left behind from the flaming turd that was the movie, “The Pick Of Destiny” (I actually liked that movie; I just couldn’t resist the imagery). Jack Black opens the title track on the album with, “When The Pick of Destiny was released, it was a bomb, And all the critics said that the D was done…”
Well, Jack Black and Kyle Gass prove with this latest release that their is in fact more in store for The D, and brilliantly deliver the same pairing of rocking guitar riffs and hilarious tongue-in-cheek lyrics fans have come to expect. The album was released yesterday, May 15th, and the band has already produced a slew of music videos/short films to promote it. Check out the official videos for “Rize Of The Fenix,” “The Roadie,” which stars Danny McBride as super-star roadie, Sebastian, “To Be The Best,” which is hilarious fictional telling of the band’s reunion and “Rock Is Dead,” a fake advertisement for a fictional tinnitus research institute.
