COTU FestDovetail has just been added to The Center of the Universe Festival lineup alongside big names such as AWOLNATION, Young the Giant, Capital Cities, Cold War Kids, Fitz and The Tantrums and Twenty One Pilots. The Center of the Universe Festival is a two-day, non-profit music and arts experience held in Tulsa, Oklahoma’s booming Brady Arts District. Young The Giant Perform “Cough Syrup” On The Today Show

Young The Giant appeared on the NBC show The Today Show this morning to perform their hit song “Cough Syrup.” The band also answered some questions in a brief interview, in which lead singer Sameer Gadhia talked about how the band’s current success came from humble beginnings and mentioned plans to start recording a new album in the fall of 2012. Check out the video of the live appearance below.

The A.V. Club Presents A.V. Undercover 2012

The A.V. Club, an entertainment newspaper and website published by The Onion, has put out some great cover videos this year so far with their A.V. Undercover 2012 series – a music video series in which 25 bands cover 1 song from a list of 25 well-known songs. Once a band chooses a song, it gets crossed off the list, leaving the last few bands with little to choose from. One of my personal favorites is Young The Giant’s cover of R. Kelly’s “Ignition”:

Other videos this year include Punch Brothers covering The Cars’ “Just What I Needed,” Sharon Van Etten and Shearwater covering Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks’ duet “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around,” and a Police cover by Memoryhouse. Check them out here.

New Young The Giant Video

Cali alternative rockers Young The Giant released a new video yesterday for “Apartment,” one of the singles off their self-titled 2010 debut. It looks like the guys and their friends had a blast shooting this video and really makes me want to skip ahead to the summer so I can road trip to the beach (with Young The Giant on full blast on my car stereo, of course). Check the video out for yourself:
