Do you remember last year when Roots and Rock artist Carly Jamison was dropping Christmas singles left and right like snowflakes in a winter storm?  How many were there?  I kinda lost count.  I think there were four.  Well, apparently, Santa Carly’s sack of presents isn’t empty yet.  On Black Friday, she delivered her latest,“Christmas May Have To Be Postponed” and this one’s a real retro rocker reminiscent of the genre’s early days when, as the saying goes, “the Blues had a baby and they named it Rock n Roll”“Christmas May Have To Be Postponed” features a pretty standard Blues/R&B progression (I know I’ll think of a better example in a few days;  in the meantime…not unlike “Big Boss Man”, “Dirty Water”,“Memphis Tennessee” and “Route 66”.  Musicologists are now spinning in their graves, I’m sure.  Any minute now, Marshall McLuhan is going to show up, telling me I know nothing about music………….What, no Annie Hall fans out there?).  This might be my favorite of Carly’s Christmas singles (although her Ramones flavored“The Happiest Christmas Tree” is right up there, too).  And, if I had to guess, I’d say Carly isn’t done with the Christmas tunes yet.  You can find “Christmas May Have To Be Postponed” on Bandcamp or, if you prefer, iTunes and Amazon.  While it lasts, you can also grab the acoustic demo of “Christmas May Have To Be Postponed” via Soundcloud FREE; and, even acoustic, the song is a blast and a half.  Just keep in mind that Carly has already said the demo isn’t going to be free for very long.

“Christmas May Have To Be Postponed,” is available as a digital download on online stores such as iTunes, and Bandcamp, and available for streaming across all streaming platforms including Spotify, YouTube, and Soundcloud.
