Singer-songwriter Janet Devlin was recently featured on Boxxtalk’s Litterbox Podcast. Janet spoke with Zeena Koda about her debut album Running With Scissors, her experience on X-Factor UK, how she chose a different path after X-Factor, and much more. Janet came to fame after being on the X-Factor UK when she was only 16 years old. She says the scariest part about X-Factor was the instant fame that came with the show; going from a “normal” 16 year old to someone in the spotlight. Just a few years after X-Factor, Janet learned to cope with the attention and spotlight she gained from the show.
Instead of jumping at the first record deal that came about after X-Factor, Janet took a different path. Janet began a Pledge Music campaign to fund her first album, which was later then was redone to her exact liking. Running With Scissors was put together in a mere 6 weeks. Running With Scissors features some break up songs, as well as songs with deeper meanings than just a typical pop song.
