Hafdis Huld Featured on Direct Current’s Radar!

Hafdis Huld Direct Current Radar

Sending over a big thank you to Direct Current for featuring Hafdis Huld’s new album, “Home,” on their Radar! Here’s what they had to say:

“This album is just home,” Icelandic alt-pop singer/songwriter Hafdis Huld says of her first new project in three years. “It should be called home.” And so, it is. Filled with biographical themes and recorded entirely in her wooden house in a valley surrounded by mountains outside of Reykjavik, Home (April 29, OK!Good) spins Huld’s gentle, flickering folk tales backed by piano the simplest lines of acoustic strings — guitar (“it just suits my voice…my stories,” she says), banjo and ukulele. New songs, co-written with partners such as Ed Harcourt, Boo Hewerdine, Callum MacColl and longtime producer Alisdair Wright, have an almost childlike charm and bright, playful air even when the lyrics are shrouded in melancholy, thanks to what The Guardian describes as Huld’s “delicate high-pitched sigh of a voice.” Click through to stream “Lucky” (link to free download) and watch the “Queen Bee” video and EPK.
