Veronica Fusaro to Represent Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna, Austria

Alternative pop singer-songwriter Veronica Fusaro will represent Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026, one of the world’s biggest live music events. The 70^th Eurovision Song Contest will take place this year in Austria. Switzerland will compete in the second semi-final on 14 May 2026.

Born and raised in Thun BE, Veronica Fusaro has built a reputation as one of the most distinctive voices in the Swiss music scene. Blending pop with elements of soul and rock, her songs combine sharp lyricism with emotional clarity and a groove-driven sound.

An established live performer, Fusaro was named “Best Talent” by Swiss national radio SRF 3 in 2016, marking an early milestone in her career. Since then, she has played over 500 concerts in Switzerland and abroad, appearing on renowned stages and festivals including Glastonbury, Montreux Jazz Festival and Gurtenfestival, and supporting Mark Knopfler at the Amphitheatre of Nîmes. She concluded 2023 with a headline show at Kaufleuten in Zurich.

Known for her strong stage presence, the 28-year-old musician balances vulnerability and confidence, creating performances that feel both personal and powerful.

Music and artistic direction

Fusaro’s current creative chapter centres on her second album, Looking for Connection, released in October 2025. The record reflects the growing desire for authenticity in a digitally overstimulated world, capturing the tension between distance and closeness through danceable grooves and lyrical honesty.

Her debut album, All the Colors of the Sky (2023), entered the Swiss album charts at number five and was widely praised for its emotional depth and confident songwriting. Across both records, Fusaro’s warm, expressive and immediately recognizable voice remains the emotional anchor.

Eurovision performance and creative team

The song with which Fusaro will compete at Eurovision 2026 will be announced on 11 March 2026. The visual and artistic direction of her performance is being developed in collaboration with acclaimed creative director Fredrik “Benke” Rydman.

Rydman is one of the most influential creatives in modern Eurovision history, having directed winning performances for Sweden in 2015 and Switzerland in 2024, as well as a second-place finish for Finland in 2023. For Fusaro, he is crafting a staging concept that places musical identity, emotional presence and storytelling at its centre.

Selection process

Switzerland’s Eurovision entry was selected from 493 submitted songs through a multi-stage process involving an international public vote and an expert jury, with the result determined by a 50/50 split between audience and jury votes.

Eurovision Song Contest: event and broadcast dates

The 70th Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Vienna. The semi-finals will be broadcast on 12 and 14 May 2026 on SRF zwei, and the final will be broadcast live from the Wiener Stadthalle on 16 May 2026 on SRF 1. This year, artists from 35 countries will compete.

With more than 170 million viewers worldwide, the Eurovision Song Contest is one of the largest live television events in the world, coordinated by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).
