OK!Good Records’ Recap of 2016

As we all know 2016 has been quite the year. As the year is coming to an end, we wanted to look back at some of the great things that happened with OK!Good Records this year.

OK!Good Records kicked off 2016 with the digital release of “100 Goals” from New York based singer-songwriter Carly Jamison. The single celebrates a new year, new beginnings, and the use of planning, list making, and visualization to define and achieve goals. Stream the single below:

Critically acclaimed German punk rockers DONOTS released their 10th studio album, entitled ¡CARAJO!. The album received rave reviews nationwide, and was even named Album of the Year by The Rock Critic. Watch the music video for “I Will Deny” below:

We celebrated Engelbert Humperdinck‘s 80th birthday with a star-studded birthday greeting video, which included artists such as  Olivia Newton-John, Neil Sedaka, Kenny Rogers, Larry King, Gloria Gaynor, and the late Alan Thicke. Watch the birthday greeting below:

The summer brought as another new single from Carly Jamison, entitled “Sneaking Around This Small Town,” which is a new genre-defying single that is a mini musical drama in its own right as it not only uses lyrics to tell a story about small town gossip, lies, speculation, and insecurity, but also different musical styles and genres to set the scenes. Singer-songwriter Janet Devlin released her highly anticipated single, “Outernet Song,” this past October. The single perfectly showcases Janet’s always frank and honest lyrics, dealing with our obsession with the Internet and social media. The single has received rave reviews worldwide. 2016 also brought us a new holiday EP from Janet Devlin, entitled ‘Little Lights.’ The new EP beautifully captures the somber feelings and emotions associated with the Holiday season. “Something Beginning With Christmas” was featured as Song of the Week on the popular app Video Star. November brought us the debut single from Weapons of Anew, the dynamic new band featuring members of HavocHate and Spread Eagle. “Killshot” is one of the first songs written by the new band, and when it all came together, Weapons of Anew were certain they had found their niche amongst their eclectic influences and the music of the collective previous bands. Carly Jamison gave us another Holiday tune with her single “Keeping Christmas,” which is a fun, energetic, and vintage inspired holiday toe-tapper that addresses the topic of the holidays blues in an uplifting and inspiring manner. Stream “Keeping Christmas” below:

After 4 years, the wait is finally over for Schiller fans with the release of his brand new album, ‘Future.’ The album is the 9th studio album from multi-Gold and Platinum awarded electronic artist, producer, and composer Christopher von Deylen.  The album went straight to the top of the German Pop Album Charts marking his fifth #1 album in his home country. OK!Good Records closes out 2016 with the Janet Devlin and Jason Nevins‘ new interpretation of “Outernet Song.” The remix “Outernet Song (Remix)” is an upbeat, electro-pop version of the ukulele-infused alt-pop single, which has all the makings of an instant tropical pop radio hit. The single is available to stream exclusive on SoundCloud.

Thank you for being apart of our success this year! Wishing you and yours a Happy New Year! Stay tuned for great music in 2017!
