Janet Devlin Among Nominees for First Irish Music Awards
Janet Devlin has been nominated for “Song of the Year” for the first Irish Music awards to take place at The Sugar Club in Dublin, Ireland tonight, Friday January 8th. The song that has earned her a nomination is “Suantraí Meisciúil,” the Gaelic version of “Whiskey Lullabies.”
The NÓS Music Awards 2015 will be the first awards show to recognize Irish singer-songwriters and the recent rise of popularity in Gaelic music, due in part to Ed Sheeran’s recent Gaelic rendition of his original song, “Thinking Out Loud.” The first Gaelic summer festival, Ravelóid, will also take place this year in June.
