Hafdis Huld Featured on The Folk Roots List UK

Hafdis Huld Folk Roots UK Feature

Hafdis Huld has been featured on The Folk Roots List UK! The publication praised Hafdis for her reputation as one of the most entertaining live performers out there, and her beautifully stripped-down sound. Here’s a snippet of what they had to say:

Home and the concept of belonging is the central theme of the album. Home for Hafdis is an old house in a starkly beautiful valley surrounded by mountains just outside Reykjavik. It’s the perfect place for writing and recording music, baking cakes and raising a daughter. With the remarkable Icelandic landscape as a constant backdrop, the songs bring everyday detail into sharp focus, perfectly illustrated on first single, Queen Bee, which was written as a thank you note for her neighbour who had given her a dog. Stripped back and mainly centred around acoustic guitar, piano and voice, it’s the perfect foil for Hafdis’s pure vocals. Like Iceland itself, its beauty lies in the juxtaposition of the simple with the extraordinary.
