BBC Radio Premiere of Engelbert Humperdinck’s “How Can You Live With Yourself”

BBC Radio personality Ken Bruce premiered Engelbert Humperdink’s track “How Can You Live With Yourself” (Start @ 1hr38min) this morning on BBC Radio 2. “How Can You Live With Yourself” is one of 14 new Engelbert exclusives to be released on his album The Man I Want To Be.  The fan-proclaimed “King of Romance” wrote this album as a love letter to his wife of 53 years, Patricia. “How Can You Live With Yourself” a song about remorse is an emotional portrayal of Engelbert’s relationship with his wife. Patricia was diagnosed with Alzheimer Disease about 7 years ago, the disease has had a significant impact on both of their lives.

“I have always looked after my little girl – my wife – and made sure she is in the safest hands possible at all times.”

Despite such a debilitating setback, Humperdinck has been busier than ever. His 50th Anniversary Live Tour makes stops across the United States with dates in Philadelphia, Reno, San Antonio, and Ft. Lauderdale. In a recent interview with U.K. publication Daily Express he told reporters,

“I’m touring like crazy and I’m so excited about the way my career is going,”

“Had someone told me 50 years ago when I had my first hit that I’d still be doing this aged 81 I would never have believed it.”

The Man I Want To Be is Engelbert’s first album of original material in over a decade. It features many popular composers such as Willie Nelson (“Crazy”), Jon Allen (“The Man I Want To Be”), Richard Scott (“Just Like The First Time”), Steve Mac (“Absolute Beginner”), and Richard Marx and Fee Waybill (“How Can You Live”). It also includes two unexpected covers – Ed Sheeran’s “Photograph” and Bruno Mars’ “Just The Way You Are”.

The Man I Want To Be will be released on November 24, 2017 via OK! Good Records.
