Shaking Chains Release Ever-Changing Music Video

British band Shaking Chains has officially changed the game for music videos. For their new single ‘Midnight Oil,’ they have created some “computer voodoo” to make a music video that never repeats itself. Yes, you read that correctly. They have created an algorithm that pulls random short video clips from websites such as YouTube based off of specific search terms related to the content of the song and society right now. Watch the video and then watch a completely different one here.

Speaking to the BBC the band’s drummer Jack Hardiker – he’s the one who came up with the idea – explained a bit more about the formula behind the film. “”Each slot is filled with content based on a specific search term… The developer had to work with getting the timings perfect and it took a long time as it’s what makes the video feel like a whole.”
